Cool Runnings - Bay to Breakers 2006

Feel the rhythm! Team Jamaica before da race. We were so confident of gold we gave everybody else a half-hour start.

Rocketing through SOMA - jus follow da flag!

My power comes from da locks!

Our intrepid photographer.

I got really mad at these women for A) being out of the house B) not covering themselves head to toe in black.

Coach Dave/John Candy provided a winning strategy for the Hayes Street hill. Drink more beer=lighten de load!

Ran into Tyler, aka the one of the dudes who won the Amazing Race last week, aka the main reason I wasn't picked to be on the Amazing Race cuz two cool dudes from SF had just won it and nobody wants to see that two seasons in a row.

Me nah one for hold de grudge - he did some nice work on the bobsled keg stand!

As did I.

As did Dave. And like ten other people; you get the idea.

End of race boogie!!!

Why I Support High Gas Prices

So Americans would stop behaving like idiots with their car purchases and energy habits.

I've lived in Guyana and Spain, and in both places I was regularly reprimanded for leaving the lights on when I wasn't in a room. In the U.S., people leave lights on all the time, leave the TV on all day, leave the car running, and subsequently screw the planet. It needs to change.

People will only turn to fuel-efficient cars when economic necessity drives them there. Let's jack up the fuel prices.

(Note to self: buy stock in Shell!)

We're Better Than Them!

This is the kind of news that reminds me how 99.5% of Americans are basically good.

How do you think that vote would have gone down in Iran?

Just kidding! In Iran there wouldn't have been a vote, much less a truly elected government, female suffrage, and any option BUT the death penalty.

One small step for humanitarianism...
